$279.3 million awarded to 73 critical water infrastructure projects

Overview

Governor Kathy Hochul on Nov. 4 announced the state Environmental Facilities Corporation has awarded $279.3 million in WIIA and IMG grants to support nearly $1 billion in projects across the state that protect public health or improve water quality. 

Based on market conditions, the grants are projected to save taxpayers an estimated $1 billion that municipalities would have had to spend in costs and debt interest if they financed the projects on their own.

Capital Region: $12 Million

EFC has awarded $12 million to Capital Region municipalities. The investment is projected to save Capital Region localities an estimated $60.6 million.
