The Environmental Facilities Corporation helps local governments and eligible organizations undertake their water infrastructure projects. We provide grants and financings to help ensure projects are affordable while safeguarding essential water resources. We provide "one-stop shop" financial services that save local governments' money, time and staff resources.

EFC administers state and federal grants as well as low-cost financings to help minimize the tax burden for communities across the state. We use multiple financing strategies to maximize the funding that can be made available to our partners.

Employees of the Corporation enjoy many benefits similar to those offered to New York State employees.  Our total compensation package includes, but is not limited to, leave benefits (12 holidays and paid vacation, sick and personal leave); a comprehensive health insurance program including health, prescription drug, dental and vision plans; and membership in the NYS and Local Retirement System, which is a defined retirement plan, or, for eligible staff, the Voluntary Defined Contribution Program.
